{"id":193,"date":"2017-09-02T23:20:15","date_gmt":"2017-09-03T06:20:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/samuelblee.com\/dir\/?p=193"},"modified":"2021-01-18T11:53:02","modified_gmt":"2021-01-18T19:53:02","slug":"o-what-a-day-by-samuel-byung-deuk-lee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/samuelblee.com\/dir\/2017\/09\/02\/o-what-a-day-by-samuel-byung-deuk-lee\/","title":{"rendered":"O What a Day by Samuel Byung-Deuk Lee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>O what a day, November 2nd, 1990.<br \/>\nMy sister was born, one of world\u2019s finest, but fattest baby.<br \/>\nMy parents could attest, they were both blessed and distressed.<br \/>\nCrying and crying, but their daughter nonetheless.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->She adored her father and mother, more than anything<br \/>\nEven made a girl bawl, bragging,<br \/>\n\u201cMy mom is better than your mom.\u201d<br \/>\nShe is right our mom is pretty bomb<\/p>\n<p>O what a day, December 30th, 1995<br \/>\nI was born, the world\u2019s finest and normal baby arrives.<br \/>\nMy sister can confess, she was both obsessed and depressed.<br \/>\nA baby brother, competition, but also some toy to dress<br \/>\nFrom plaid dresses, pipe cleaner glasses, to oversized shoes,<br \/>\nShe did it all. I was the canvas, I was the muse.<\/p>\n<p>From ups and downs, smiles and frowns, you were there,<br \/>\nA second mother, my partner in crime, my best friend.<br \/>\nThrough thick and thin, you\u2019ve always been like a mother bear.<br \/>\nAnd you will always be that to me, up until the very end.<\/p>\n<p>Even though at times I was a bothersome brother (as they should)<br \/>\nI always looked up to you, I always kept trying to be in your shoes.<br \/>\nI keep running, but I only get to where you once stood.<br \/>\nYou will and already do great things, no matter what path you choose.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Rob, I never thought my sister would ever date.<br \/>\nIn fact, my parents didn\u2019t even know if she was straight.<br \/>\nI never thought there would be a man that could<br \/>\nI never thought there would be a man that would.<br \/>\nBut here we are, Rob Wu<br \/>\nYou did the impossible. You woo Min-Joo.<br \/>\nAnd I can\u2019t but applaud you.<\/p>\n<p>But be warned, she loves to dress you up, pretend you&#8217;re her toy<br \/>\nSo much so that you might question if you are even a boy.<br \/>\nShe is fierce, sometimes crazy, and no one can stop her,<br \/>\nAnd so, I say, \u201cGood luck monsieur.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rob, when I heard and saw you took care of my sister<br \/>\nI thought of you as a brother from another mother<br \/>\nIn the past, figuratively,<br \/>\nbut now quite literally.<br \/>\nAnd so I entrust to you, my yae-yae,<br \/>\nMy second mother, my partner in crime, my best friend.<br \/>\nTake care of each other up until the very end.<\/p>\n<p>O what a day, today, August 12th, 2017<br \/>\nA new chapter, so much in the unforeseen<br \/>\nRob and Min-Joo, I hope the best for you two.<br \/>\nStay strong, stay true, and know we are always beside you.<br \/>\nI do not know what the future brings,<br \/>\nBut I am sure it has great and happy things.<\/p>\n<p>O What a Day, the start of this union of heart.<br \/>\nCongratulations and we love you, Rob and Min-Joo Wu.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>O what a day, November 2nd, 1990.
